Finstall Children’s Art work

Chelsea Flower Show Representatives of Birmingham City Council have asked me to thank our children for their wonderful contributions of Art work that featured in their entry to this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Every child in the School contributed a piece of art based on the theme of “Park Gardens.” I am pleased to be able to inform you that the Council’s entry received a gold medal and Darren Share MBE, one of the Garden Creators said, “The feedback from the visitors to the display has been overwhelming and they are all commenting on how lovely the drawings are. This year, more than any other year, the connection between the display and your children’s art work is being recognised. The display is attracting quite a lot of media coverage and it has been featured on Radio WM 3 times, Central TV and BBC all in the News items. So far there have been 3 features on the BBC Chelsea Coverage as well as articles in the Birmingham Mail. Baroness Floella Benjamin always takes time to look at each drawing and says it’s the cherry on the top of the display.” The display, including the art work, will be moved to Cannon Hill Park for the Summer so everyone can see it. In the photograph, below, you may be able to see that the children’s art work is used to make up the base of the garden. Thank you and very well done to the Council’s team and all of our children.
