Fossil Workshop

7th March 2019
On Thursday the children in Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic session exploring fossils with zoologist Jules Howard. They were given a fascinating introduction into how fossils are formed before being challenged to identify the many examples that Jules brought to share. They particularly enjoyed the fossilised poo! The children then went onto develop their skills of scientific research by looking at Madagascan amber in order to uncover what prehistoric Madagascar might have been like. They were lucky enough to find examples of ants, mosquitoes and spiders which they were able to look at through a digital microscope. Everyone was so enthusiastic and Jules was impressed by the thoughtful questions the children posed. A great morning!
